Jack's Jump Line
In Memory of Jack hennies
Jack Hennies took his own life on January 22, 2022 at the young age of 19. Jack was a vibrant, smart and funny young man who really enjoyed skiing with friends at Mount Ski Gull and in the Terrain Park. His good nature and bright personality are sorely missed on the slopes and on the JUMPS. While Jack is missed every single day he will not be forgotten. To bring that reality into the material world, we set out to answer the following question: "How can we honor Jack and support the community that he loved, while also promoting the positive effects outdoor sports have on mental health?"
Armed with the knowledge that Jack loved twin-tip skiing but hated rails, coupled with the fact that Jack loved JUMPS, those who knew Jack, in coordination with Mount Ski Gull, came up with a way to honor Jack: creating a JUMP LINE in Jack's name. This jump line expansion will be constructed in the tree area on the southeast side of the run Quarterdeck, just uphill of the existing Terrain Park (map posted below). With the gracious donations from those who knew and loved Jack and many anonymous donors, we are able to put this plan into action this fall!

Project PlanApproximately 5-6 acres southeast of the run Quarterdeck and south (uphill) of the current Terrain Park will be cleared and shaped into a jump park. You can see on the attached map where this area is in relation to the existing Terrain Park and Quarterdeck Run. This jump park will have two lines of jumps: one with 2-3 bigger jumps ("J" marks the jumps) and one with 4-5 smaller jumps. A Tow-Pro high-speed tow rope will be installed on the east side of the run.
